Kite lessons in Egypt, Hyrghada

 

Hurghada is one of the best place to learn kitesurfing in Egypt. Stable wind is blowing here regularly in autumn, spring and summer. Kiters from all over the world come to Hurghada and enjoy kiteboarding here.

 

The best time for kitesurfing in Egypt is from March to December. July, August in Hurghada is hot (without wind the temperature rises to +40⁰). January and February wether is cold from +17 to +22 degrees during the day.

 

 

The wind blows regularly in Hurghada. Windy months are the period from February 15 to November 30.

 

The windest season in Hurghada is fall from August 15 to the first part of November. At this time wind blows almost every day.

How many kite lessons needed to become an independent kiter

 

- To start kite riding confidently you need 8-12 hours of individual kitesurfing training.

- It takes 4-6 hours to confidently kontrol the kite and go right and left.

 

 

- To understand how to jump with a kite you will need 1 hour of individual training.

-To increase the effectivness of traning we use walkie-talkie. To teach you how to ride, jump and do tricks - we're filming you.

 

What you will do at kite lessons

 

1. Learning how to evaluate kite spot. Determine the direction of the wind. Get to know kite equipment. Setting up the kite with a bar - 30 minutes.

2. Learning how to control a kite. You will move with a kite on the water on your belly. Learning how to kontrol a kite by one hand. Learning how to catch a board in deep water. 1,5 - 3 hours.

 

 

3. Training with a board. Put on board and will learn how to control a kite and the board at the same time. Doing exersise stady-pull to get ready to waterstart 1-2 hours.

4. The fourth lesson is about 2 hours. We will practice water start and stops. We will learn how to direct the board and stand up for water start. If everything is good we will practice riding with kite against the wind.

 

 

5. The next step is self-rescue (30 minutes). We will learn how to wind up the lines correctly in case you are left alone with a tangled kite. 

6. Sixth lesson is about 2 hours. We will learn how to ride upwind. Doing a transition. Launch and land the kite to the beach.

 

And the next step is enjoy kiteboarding on the Red Sea!

 

Having completed the traning stage above you become an independent rider. Now you can rent kites and ride on your own equipment.

At our Kite Camp in Hurghada you will become an independent kiter after 5 days.

 

 

Our kite spot

 

We are teaching in a kite lagoon 800 meters wide and 2 km long with minimal traffic on the water. Kite lagoon almost has no coral reefs. The depth of the lagoon is knee-deep or waist-deep (depending of the tide).

 

 

At the end of the lagoon there is a shallow sandy beach and fishing boats. This is convinient kite spot for beginners and professional kiters.

 

Our kite school is located on the north of Hurghada. The town is long about 40 km along the Red Sea coast.

If you want to spend your vacation for kitesurfing then it will be better for you to stay in the northern part of the town. This district called El Ahyaa.

- sunscreen (SPF not lower than 50%);

- sunglasses (for watersport), cap or panama;

- water shoes;

- long wetsuit from November to May, short wetsuit May and October (We have rental wetsuits all sizes);  

- swimsuit, swimming trunks, towel.

I completed IKO courses in Egypt in 2022 and I'm certified Level I instructor.

During my way in kitesurfing I have taught about 500 people how to ride with kite.
